deleting lines in vi

Hi guys, long time no see ;-)
today when I was editing a new file using vi I decided that I need to find a pattern and then I wanted to perform some bulk editions on it.
1) open the file "vi file.txt"
2) find the pattern "/Streaming"
3) want to chop all text before this. this means to delete all previous lines before the line I am. I have google it a little bit... and found a method. Obviously that there are other optional ways to achieve the same result.
3.1) start by going to the previous line
3.2) Ctrl+G to find what is the current line number (eg. 567)
output: "file.txt" line 567 of 1180 --48%-- col 16
3.3) now we need to delete current line and previous 566 with ":.,-566d"
output: "Backwards range given, OK to swap (y/n)?" yes
3.4) voila, now the first line of the file is the line which has the first hit of the pattern "/Streaming"

hope this helps you!

Angola - growing but in what direction ?

* Don't know Angola. Never been there. I know many people from Angola, though!
* Portuguese and Angolans, claim that Angola it's a country with lots of natural beauties and opportunities
* Portuguese and Angolans that know, tell me about the horrible stories about corruption (mostly from the government elite), that stop the sustainable development of this "rich" country...
* Many emergent rich people from Angola (mostly with responsibilities in the government) are expending fortunes buying houses, cars, superfulous goods and let the rest of the population without basic food and services...
* My opinion: as long as there are these kind greedy people that only think of immediate profit and well being for themselves, the poorer will suffer more and more!
This applies both to Angola, which is experiencing at the present time economical growth, and to Portugal which has been living in democracy since 1974, and which claims to be a developed country in Europe!
* you will find on the net other people with comments relative to the "growth" of Angola (eg. here).
And of course the usual news massmedia channels will "skip" these issues that are not "political correct"

IKEA in Portugal

Today's news indicate that IKEA will install a new factory in North of Portugal, in Passos de Ferreira.
The good news are that more unemployed people will be able to apply for a new job. It is also believed that this new factory will drive more innovation and more qualified personal to this region.
The bad news are that it seems that the new factory will be installed in an ecological preserved area.
This is Portugal.... a country of contrasts!

Who is controlling Portuguese Parlament deputies ?

Nobody is really controlling the activities of the Portuguese Parlament deputies.
Why do Portuguese Parlament deputies have other "jobs" other than the job they have been elected for ?
Are the responsabilities of analysing and deciding Portuguese laws a simple task that leaves them with lots of free time ?
When we look at everyday news and see lots of weak laws that are misused by cleaver law firms/lawyers we can easily find out why is this hapenning !!!
Supposing that the job of Portuguese Parlament deputies is really easy, then I believe that there should be a considerable reduction in the number of Parlament deputies. This would save lots of money that could be better applied to hospitals and schools.
